"Frequently and Not So Frequently Asked Questions"

Below you should find many answers to frequently asked questions. If you have a question that isn't answered here, feel free to contact us.

I like the samples in your Gallery. Can you make us an actual sample using artwork from our website?
Sure! Just email us, or call us at (203) 701-0770. There is no artwork charge although this may change if there is a substantial amount of work that needs to be done and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

You made us a sample using artwork from our website, but it looks all fuzzy and blocky? What gives?
Website images look fine on your monitor because screen resolution and printer resolution are two completely different things. Your monitor displays images at 72dpi and we print at 300dpi or higher. Images printed at 72dpi in a 300dpi space will appear MUCH smaller than normal. If they are stretched to fit, they become pixelated. It is ALWAYS better to use high-resolution images. See our downloads section for acceptable artwork formats.

You made a sample for us, but our event was cancelled. What happens to the sample?
We reserve the right to display any samples we've made in our Gallery unless previously discussed, regardless of whether you event goes on as planned or not.

Do you offer any special services?
Yes we do. We also are beginning to offer custom made designs that go beyond the style of just hanging around your neck. Our new designs will incorporate displays, moving parts and other extremely unique ways to promote your event. Our new offerings are still being developed, but don't hesitate to ask about your own ideas.

I would like to have a raffle, 50/50 or lottery type game at my event - can you do this?
Absolutely! We can custom design any type of scratch-off raffle using randomly generated images with just one winner, or several types of winners from a grand prize down to a runner up or anything in-between. Please note that we can not and will not under any circumstance create actual lottery tickets such as those you would find in a store that are run by your state. Check out the Scratchables™ page for more information.

What could I use your credentials or other services for?
There are many uses for this great product! Birthday Parties, Raffles, Silent Auctions, Giveaways, Gift Certificates, Grab Bags, Door Prizes, Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Fund Raising, School Events and anything else you can think of! There's plenty of ideas on our Ideas page.

Can you make adult-themed scratch-off tickets or credentials?
Yes we can. We will not display any of that material on our site to keep it family-oriented. If you would prefer to see some adult oriented Scratchables™ or credentials, just contact us. And just to let you know, any adult-themed work we do is NOT explicit.

Can you make State Lottery tickets?
Absolutely not.

Can you replace my Driver's License? I think I lost it somewhere.
Absolutely not.

I would like to get an ID card so I can get into a bar or nightclub - can you make one for me?
Absolutely not.

Please?
Absolutely not.

What's this new thing I hear you are coming out with - the TechnoBadge?
The TechnoBadge™ is our latest offering. Custom made, hand-crafted credentials that actually DO something besides look good! You will just have to see it to believe it. As we are creating these amazing credentials, feel free to contact us to inquire about your own original ideas that you may be interested in having for your event. You can also check out the TechnoBadge™ FAQ.

We want to make sure our artwork, logos and fonts are safe with you. We don't want that stuff floating around the internet. What can you do about it?
We can sign non-disclosure and/or confidentiality agreements for you, which we've done in the past many times. We absolutely in no way will use any of your artwork without your permission. We won't even put a sample of your work in our Gallery if you don't want us to. Not a single piece of work that you send us are ever posted on our website, the internet or via any anonymnous-accessible method. We're good like that.

I would prefer that a sample of my artwork is not displayed in your Gallery. How can I make sure of that?
Very simple. Just tell us. If you don't tell us, we will post one, generally after your event date has passed. Even if it was posted before the end of your event, the images are purposely low resolution and couldn't be used even if they wanted to. There's no way they could enlarge the image enough to make a pass and keep the high level of detail that we use.

I'd really like to see some of the designs that you didn't put online. Can I see some?
Sorry, no. Our clients' privacy is extremely important to us. That is one reason we're still in business. We will not divulge any of their information for any reason whatsoever. I am sure you would want the same privacy as our other clients do, and it is for that reason we cannot allow any of their artwork to be shown. Thank you for understanding.

Can you get me a backstage pass for a concert or other event?
Only if you are affliated with and responsible for acquiring credentials and can provide several levels of verification. This is to prevent fraud and unauthorized entry to any venue. Our verifcation methods are stricly enforced and references and data are thoroughly checked before any work is started.

What kind of verification do I need to get passes made for my event?
We use several methods of verification to ensure that you or the person who contacted us is authorized to use our services. Please download the "Acquiring Event Credentials" from our Downloads page.

I work on the "Street Team" for the band. Can I get backstage passes?
Have the production or band manager contact us with prrof that he or she authorizes you to get backstage.

You contacted us, do we still need to provide proof?
No. If we initiated the contact, you do not need to provide proof, as we already have your information in our system.

What file types and specifications do you require / recommend?
Please download or "Acceptable Artwork Specifications" from our Downloads page.

Do you have any minimum or maximum orders?
No we do not. Whether you need just a few or a few thousand - there's no problem. Very large orders can take some additional time to create, so please make sure you contact us with plenty of time if you plan a large order. It is best to contact us as early as possible to prevent rush fees. Rush fees vary according to the quantity and the time they're needed.

I need to make some changes to my design. How many changes can I make?
We realize that there are sometimes many design changes - possible new logos, sponsor information, changes in venue date or time or other factors that could requires numerous changes. We are not going to charge for changes. Unless they become excessive. Things change. We know that. If production has already started and you want to make a change you will have to pay for another order. It will be discounted, and the discount amount depends upon several factors; how much material we have to reorder, how fast we need to get it here and of course the quantity. This will all be determined on a case-by-case basis.

How can we pay for our order?
We accept Credit Cards, Personal, Cashier (Bank), Company checks and money orders. Checks and Money Orders MUST clear before any works starts. There is a $25.00 service fee for checks returned for insufficient funds. Cash is not accepted and you accept the risk of cash being sent through the mail.

Do you need a deposit?
Depending upon the size of the job and if you are a first time client or not, we may require a deposit to retain our services. This deposit could range in size up to 50%. This will be determined on case-by-case basis.

You said you've been in business since 1994 but a lot of your pages were made in February of 2005! Are you lying?
No. This company was started with the name of LaminAds. That was short for Laminated Ads - but no one knew what that meant and didn't know how to pronounce it. To tell you the truth, I'm not quite sure how to pronounce it either, so don't feel bad. Much of our early work was not done through the internet. It was done off-line through word of mouth and through the mail. We decided to change the name towards the end of 2004 and create the website into something that people recognized and could pronounce.

You said you hate Pop-Ups, but I am getting them when I view your site. You lied!
No we didn't. Pop-Ups are not being sent from our site. Check the source and you will see that we're not sending any. We HATE Pop-Ups, Pop-Unders and whatever else they come up with to annoy people.

Your work is cool- can we get a reference?
To protect the privacy of our clients, we are unable to provide names, phone numbers or email addresses. Especially to those who requested their artwork not be posted. We think our work speaks for itself.

I don't live in the United States. Can I still have credentials made for me?
Yes, but there are a few conditions. First, we will only accept a Credit Card or a Letter of Credit. All work must be paid for in full up front and must clear before anywork is started. There are no exceptions to this policy. Work will be limited to personal events only and there are no exceptions to this policy. Concerts and other events where unauthorized entry is likely will be much harder to verify, so we cannot do them at this time.

Why don't you have a toll-free phone number?
We used to, actually. But every single call that we received was for another company and cost us a lot of money so we decided to get rid of it. Someday we'll get another one.

The text on your website looks weird on my computer - nothing fits in the "boxes". What's wrong?
The text is aligned properly when viewed with Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer at their default settings. Your specific options such as text size and other attributes may alter this.
